The Model D-27 Musical Clock is designed to grace a music room table, and is delivered with our basic Musical Clock compositions: all 32 of the Haydn compositions. More than 300 additional pieces have been transcribed from early manuscripts and are available from our Optional Music Library. The Model D-27 is designed with full width amphitheater form to facilitate the mixing and delivery of the tonal resources of the instrument. Proper scaling, voicing to encourage good upper partial development, and comprehensive regulation of the pipes, - then coupled to the very fast, very quiet electro-pneumatic mechanism provided by Holmberg Musical Clocks, gives an automatic performance beyond the scope of any other.

The beautiful hardwoods of the D-27, whether they are mahogany or walnut are hand picked by our mill suppliers from the finest grade of American Hardwoods, (FAS). On arrival in our shops, this material is surfaced, and then studied for cuttings to give complementary visual and tonal grain patterns in the instrument. Internal braces, supports, chimes platform, cleats, etc. are manufactured from the highest quality birds-eye maple from the slow growth forests of Northern Michigan. This beautiful maple is one of the hardest and most stable hardwoods available for these special parts. A look inside the back of a Holmberg Musical Clock will show as much good design, use of the finest materials, and finishing as any other part of the instrument.
