The Holmberg Continuo

The Holmberg Continuo is a self-contained pipe organ. It is available as a single-rank Continuo with Gedeckt of 44 notes, or as a two-rank instrument with Gedeckt and Open Flute or Quinte, both 44 notes.

As with the Holmberg Musical Clocks, the Holmberg Continuo is custom built to order, and constructed of the finest materials and workmanship.

Solid premium lumber is selected for the framing. This structure that supports the manual keyboard, the pallet chestwork and the winding system is the finest grade of six/quarter North American walnut. In addition to the standard walnut Continuo with metal pipes, this instrument is available on special order built of Honduran mahogany with wood pipes for the Gedeckt, and metal pipes for the second rank.

The manual keyboard for the Holmberg Continuo is built and finished to the recommendations of the Console Committee of the American Guild of Organists’ annual meeting of 1933, i.e. 4-ounce touch and scant 3/8 inch depth. For performance and practice, the standard for 70 years.

The pallet chestwork of the Holmberg Continuo, operating at a design wind pressure of 1 7/8 inches w.g., provides a lightning-fast action, nearly silent, and most importantly, provides the ideal base for the optimum scaling and voicing of the pipes.

Our organ pipes are made in England to our specifications for metal content, total rank weight, scale, halving, etc., and are then voiced and regulated in our shops for each instrument.
